Ben Wyvis Miniatures
Ben Wyvis distillery was, in reality, two pot stills within the Invergordon distillery complex. Malt whisky was produced from 1965 to 1977. The stills were later sold to the owners of Springbank distillery. The necks were modified and they are now operating as the two stills within Glen Gyle Distillery.
Most Ben Wyvis single malt was used for blending and very little was retained to be bottled as a single malt although, apparently, there was a commercial bottling for the Canadian market in the 1980s. Bottled Ben Wyvis malt has always been one of the hardest single malts to find.
The miniature in the final photograph in the album contains a single malt but the miniature DOES NOT contain Ben Wyvis single malt. It is the re-bottling of a 70cl of malt bottled by Invergordon Distillers for the German market under the brand name "Ben Wyvis"
